GKG’s Vice President for DEIA and Learning & Development, Donnielle DeMesme, hosts a conversation about Juneteenth, on this episode of Golden Key Group On Air. Donnielle is joined by guest Stefan Bradley, Professor of Black Studies & History at Amherst College in Massachusetts. Stefan discusses the origins of Juneteenth and its historical significance and shares his thoughts on how Americans should celebrate and remember Juneteenth.
Stefan is also the author of the books “Upending the Ivory Tower: Civil Rights, Black Power, and the Ivy League,” and “Harlem vs. Columbia University: Black Student Power in the Late 1960s.” He has received many awards for his scholarship and is frequently invited to lecture across the nation.
