Golden Key Group invests in Greater Fort Knox Community

GKG’s gift to Elizabethtown Community and Technical College provides scholarships for its Coding Academy

Reston, VA – December 20, 2021

Golden Key Group (GKG), a professional services firm specializing in workforce optimization solutions, has donated $10,000 to Elizabethtown Community and Technical College (ECTC) in Elizabethtown, KY. It is the second investment of that size that GKG has made to ECTC’s Greater Knox Coding Academy.

The Greater Knox Coding Academy provides ECTC students with the technical skills needed to pursue careers in coding and computer diagnostic and security. It’s a rigorous program that opens many doors for employment in the region.

“As an organization that supports learning and development solutions for the federal government, we understand the importance of personal and professional development,” said John Potts, GKG’s Executive Vice President of Growth. “Our CEO and founder, Gretchen McCracken, believes training and development is the backbone of success, and instills in her employees the value of continuing education. Gretchen encouraged us to invest in a program that arms students with important technical skills that we see utilized in our workforce every day. The greater Fort Knox area is home to incredible people, and we’re honored to have the opportunity to impact students’ career trajectories.”

The funds from GKG provide scholarships for students who otherwise could not afford to enroll in the Greater Knox Coding Academy. The courses are not eligible for traditional financial aid, so GKG’s support can make the difference in students’ ability to afford the program fees.

“The Greater Knox Coding Academy has provided opportunities for students to gain in-demand IT certifications and move into the workforce quickly,” said Elizabethtown Community and Technical College President & CEO Dr. Juston Pate. “We are proud to see students go on to earn starting salaries as high as $60,000 to $70,000 upon completion of the program, and appreciate Golden Key Group’s investment to help connect employers with the talent they need to continue growing.”

GKG has a presence in the Fort Knox area with its support of the U.S. Army Cadet Command. GKG provides military instructors to universities throughout the country and supports Cadet Summer Training in Fort Knox each year which sees over 9,000 students rotate through.

Graduates who pass the Coding Academy course and certification exams are eligible for careers in government, manufacturing, military, consulting, industry, and business. Learn more about the Coding Academy here.
