Golden Key Group Announces New Vice President

U.S. Army Human Resources Leader Joins GKG

Reston, VA— August 31, 2022—Golden Key Group (GKG), a professional services firm providing workforce optimization solutions, announces the appointment of Michael (Mike) McGregor as Vice President of Client Engagement and Business Optimization. In this new role, McGregor will ensure GKG’s federal clients experience consistent and reliable customer service and provide strategic guidance to improve organizational effectiveness and efficiency.

McGregor, a retired Army colonel, has twenty-nine years of experience in the military as a Human Resources Officer. His last role before joining the GKG family was Director of Personnel Management for the United States Army Human Resources Command in Fort Knox, KY. McGregor led the Directorate that actively manages the talent and careers of over 374,000 Enlisted Army personnel.


“With decades of hands-on experience leading high-level Human Resources efforts for the U.S. Army, Mike is positioned to make a real impact for our customers,” said GKG’s CEO and founder Gretchen McCracken. “As we continue to grow, the addition of Mike to our team is a critical component of our strategic direction.”

At GKG, McGregor will optimize service delivery and build customer-focused, process-centered business units that deliver innovative solutions for the government. He will be responsible for operations support of business transformation opportunities for GKG’s customers.

McGregor has a Bachelor of Business Administration in Human Resources Management/Personnel Administration from Mercer University. He has a Master’s degree in Human Resources Management/Personnel Administration from Webster University, and a Masters of Arts Degree in National Security and Strategic Studies from the U.S. Naval War College. He’s also a graduate of the Adjutant General Officer Basic and Advanced Courses, the Combined Arms and Services Staff School, the Command and General Staff College and Army Airborne School.

McGregor’s awards and decorations include the Bronze Star Medal with Oak Leaf Cluster, Defense Meritorious Service Medal, Legion of Merit with Oak Leaf Cluster; Meritorious Service Medal with three Oak Leaf Clusters, Army Commendation Medal with three Oak Leaf Clusters, Army Achievement Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Iraqi Campaign Medal, Afghanistan Campaign Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Armed Forces Service Medal, Humanitarian Service Medal, Military Outstanding Volunteer Service Medal, Army Service Ribbon, Overseas Service Ribbon, North-Atlantic Treaty Organization Medal, the Department of the Army Staff Identification Badge and the Parachutist Badge.
