Golden Key Group’s CEO Receives Patriot Award

Gretchen McCracken recognized for her steadfast support of employees in the Guard and Reserve

Reston, VA – July 26, 2022 – Today Gretchen McCracken, the CEO and Managing Partner of Golden Key Group (GKG), received the Department of Defense Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve (ESGR) Patriot Award. The Patriot Award recognizes efforts that support citizen warriors through a wide range of measures including flexible schedules, time off prior to and after deployment, and granting leaves of absence if needed. A representative from ESGR presented the award to McCracken at GKG’s Headquarters in Reston, VA.

ESGR, a Department of Defense office, was established in 1972 to promote cooperation and understanding between Reserve Component Service members and their civilian employers. ESGR’s goal is for all employers to support and value the employment of members of the National Guard and Reserve, thereby increasing the readiness of the Reserve Components.

“We are proud to employ men and women of the Guard and Reserve and to fulfill the essential national obligation we all have to take care of those in uniform,” said McCracken. “The oath that service members take aligns with GKG’s values. We take extra steps to ensure our employees in the Guard and Reserve are supported –  the last thing they need to worry about while they are serving on a mission is their civilian employment.”

McCracken was nominated for the Patriot Award by Alex Tucci, GKG’s Business Analyst and a Civil Affairs Officer in the U.S. Army Reserve. He is currently deployed overseas.

“From my first interview, to ongoing training exercises, to deploying for over nine months, GKG has not only supported my Army Reserve commitments, but celebrates my decision to serve our country,” said Tucci. “I know firsthand from those I serve with, that this is not the case for every company. I’m so grateful to have the unwavering support of my manager, Bill Lukaskiewicz, Gretchen, and all of my teammates in the GKG family.”

As part of today’s Patriot Award presentation, McCracken signed ESGR’s Statement of Support for the Guard and Reserve. It recognizes that Guardsmen and women and Reservists are essential to the strength of our Nation and the well-being of our communities. McCracken pledged to support citizen warrior employees in a multitude of ways, all of which GKG is actively doing.

GKG has a large portfolio of customers it supports with federal Human Resources, Human Capital Management, and Training and Education services. GKG has also provided longtime support for both Army and Air Force ROTC programs across the country.
